VOTER IDENTIFICATION
Voter ID, also known as EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card), is now a photo card issued by the Indian Elections Commission to all or any Indian citizens who are eligible to vote. Voter ID plays the role of identity proof for voters, increases efficiency, and prevents impersonation and fraud during free and fair democratic elections. This card is also known as an election card, a voter’s card, or a Voter ID card.
Because it is issued by the government, a voter ID card is a recognizable form of personal identification in India.
The voter ID consists of the following details
- A unique Serial number
- Photograph of the cardholder
- A hologram containing the respective state/national symbol
- Name of cardholder
- Father’s Name of cardholder
- Gender
- Card holder’s
- Card holder’s date of Birth
The cardholder’s residential address and the signature of the issuing authority (Electoral registration officer) are on the rear side of the voter ID card.

- Applying for a Voters ID requires you to submit the following documents:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of address
- Photograph
How to Apply for a Voter ID Card?
- First, you need to connect with Digital India Portal
- To join you have to click on the registration button above.
- After registration is complete, you will get the Retailer ID password
- After getting the login ID, you have to log in on Digital Gramin Seva Portal.
- After login in, you have to click on the Voter ID option and apply for a Voter ID Card.
